About Kongegaarden.

Kongegaarden, built in the genuine bourgeois rococo style in 1761, is today the perfect setting for a regional centre of professional visual arts and music. It is owned by an independent institution, the "Kongegaard Foundation", which runs the house and its two free residences and places rooms at the disposal of organizers of art exhibitions, the Isenstein Collection, concerts, etc.

Art exhibitions lasting one or two months are housed on the ground floor, - and only recognized artists can be considered. Every summer, some of the best artists of West Zealand are on show, such as Jesper Neergaard, Kirsten Ernst, Jane Morten, John Würtz, Lizzie Thyssen, Viggo Lynge Larsen and Ida Just Møller. The organizer is Korsør Art Association. Free admission.

The Isenstein Collection is on display in the Isenstein Gallery in the basement, which is also used as a café for special events.

10 to 15 annual concerts are held in the music room on the first floor, with The Korsør Concert Association as organizer.

The two rent-free residences are awarded - on application - for a maximum of one year to a recognized musician / composer and a recognized visual artist, respectively.
